Craftzine.com blog: More Harm than Good? More on the CPSIA

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

If the goal is to really protect children, then Gold believes the CPSIA will need to be rewritten. “The law focuses on lowering the amount of lead and phthalates, not eliminating them,” said Gold. “I want to produce products that don’t have any of those harmful substances, and I’m being put out of business,” concluded Gold.

French fashion and naturally beautiful women

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

garance doré » Taylor - I love the photography at this site as much as seeing the interesting fashion choices (I admit it, I’m a fashion idiot…): it’s nice to see beautiful women as they are, rather than super-polished with photoshop.

Also, I can’t read french so Mikaiya will probably enjoy this blog more than anyone. ^^

Austin Lacemakers Guild - Wow! It reminds me of our string art Star Trek picture, but so much more intricate…and somehow it creates a piece of cloth?!

Queen Anne Lace Pattern

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

The pattern I used for this scarf was from Raverly.  It looks complicated, but it works up very nicely until you take a wrong turn.  If one should take a wrong turn, you end up with a right angle instead of a straight line.  I have been using very fibrous yarn and have had to cut off my right turns and begin again.  I will post a pic when I finish.
